For our slated releases, I have two words for you: TEMPORARILY IMPOSSIBLE. ( ゚ Д゚)
Because a) My portable HD is being stupid and Windows XP on my work PC is reading the files as RAW, which leads to b) 3 AM Ch.5 typesets gone! Principal Ch.1 typesets gone! Recent translations gone!
Once I get home, I’ll try fixing my home PC (which nose-dived into my hardwood floors the other week). The case outside my Zino HD got bent and a USB port got smashed in, but, theoretically, the PC itself should still work when I put it back together. I’ll test it out over the weekend and plug in my portable HD. If it still can’t read the files, I’m going to have to cut my losses and get a new one, and I really will have to do everything all over again! (ーー;)
What does this mean for the future of Heels? What about our projects? Well, it just means you’re going to have to suck it up and wait another week or two for me to re-do quality-checks and typesets, which isn’t something you haven’t experienced before. (Oh, don’t pretend to be virginally shocked! You know me too well by now!)
Until then, guys. Peace!
It’s probably just your operating system being lame, test your portable hard drive on a different computer and see if it does the same thing.

Argh, I can hardly imagine your disappointment for this.
We will waiting patiently, thanks for your work.
P.S. Did you received a message I sent a week ago through “Ask Hatsu”?
No, I didn’t. We had a terrible amount of spam coming in through the box, so I might have missed it. If you ever see this reply, let me know what was written?
Well, I have to say thank you for all your hard work! I support you and I find your projects just perfect :p
Please continue the good job for us:)
Big kisses
I absolutely love this scanlation group. Even when giving bad news you guys somehow manage to make it fun to read.
P.S. Y’all folks also have great taste in manga.
Urgh, that’s the suckiest suck that ever sucked.
And so sorry to hear about your PC.
My fingers are crossed and they’ll stay crossed for however long you need them to be. Hang in there!
ewwww. i hate XP on my work computer so much. i’m incredibly jealous of the upper management (well, like TWO people) who get Win7, and the marketing/art guys who have Macs. Plus, my XP work PC is like 8 years old so it’s sloooooow. It screws so much stuff up when I transfer it around from home to work or to google docs and stuff. (i’m in a museum, though, and we don’t have any money to get me a working printer, much less upgrade the computers)
also, ewwww for your HD and home PC being troublesome. when i was in the dorms at college, i had my laptop on my loft bed, and got really dizzy one day with some kind of fever…and you can see where this is going? i tried to climb off the bed and when i went to grab the side to steady myself, i knocked the laptop between the railings and it crashed 6 feet to the tile floor below. amazingly, it still worked, albeit needing a separate monitor… and it lasted for another 4 years! i hope your PC is as robust!
good luck on your portable working, also!
Keri, we must be twins. You knocked your laptop six feet to its death, and I knocked my Zino HD four feet to its death, but both have come out unscat…Well, I don’t know if mine is working yet, but I’ll get back to you on that.
I have win7 on my home PC and it also runs on Ubuntu, so there’s a good chance it will still work. I’m crossing my fingers. Cross yours too? Just in case though I downloaded all the typesets that the other staff have done so I can do the quality-checks on the weekend, but I’m really, really, really mourning the loss of 3 AM Dangerous Zone Ch.5 and Principal (Ikuemi Ryo) Ch.1. I had been working on those chapters for weeks and was so stoked to finish the typesets last night at my parents’ only to come plug it into my work PC and have it NOT work.
It sucks, but, hey, it’s a new year, and I’m fired up, so it shouldn’t take too long before we start rolling out releases again. 🙂
