From today onwards (and until further notice), ALL releases will be posted only as DDLs on the forum. You will have to register, but there is no post count to download. All links will be removed from our website during this month. We will still be active and will post release updates on the website, but it will be a couple of clicks more than usual to get the the downloads.
Sorry, folks, but things are not boding well for the scanslation community, and I want us to stay afloat as long as possible, and if that means going back to our Cro-Magnon ways until things calm down, then so be it.
As for our reader, I have not been able to get in contact with any of the people involved, so I can no longer access it to update. I’m sure we’ll hear from them soon though.
We have added three new projects to our bloated list. Flapper Girl from a now defunct group has provided us raws for Nounai Poison Berry (Mizushiro Setona) and Ane no Kekkon (Nishi Keiko), while we have debated over and decided on also getting the uber-glossy and uber-expensive Nigeru Otoko by Natsume Ono. Of course, our main focus will be on our currently ongoing series, so don’t worry about these holding anything back.
Today’s releases are:
Amato Amaro Story 5
Natsuyuki Rendezvous Ch.4
Sakamichi no Apollon Ch.2
Thanks to our reader “Just passing by” who corrected a chronological mistake for Sakamichi no Apollon Chapter 1. The year is dated “1966” not “1996.”
As for Tokyo Alice, I have to beg kpossible’s forgiveness *Gets down on knees and kowtows* She finished typesetting this chapter ages and ages ago, but I could not, for the life of me, stay awake to finish it, and with my Supe hovering around my desk, it’s impossible for me to finish it right now. You will see Alice Ch.6 along with Futago Ch.14 next week. π
MESSAGES TO OUR FAVORITE READERS:
Keri: Man, I envy you. I would love to work in a museum, just so I could sneak into the bathrooms to look for Claudia and Jamie. I grew up reading From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, and I’ve always attached a sort of romance to the place.
Rexy: Just so you know, I still crack up everytime I think of you telling me, “It’s cafe au lait, not cafe ole.” (re. Chocolatier) It was a Freudian slip. I think I was watching a bull-fighting episode of Looney Tunes with my nephew when I was translating that chapter. Ole!
Lilly: I haven’t seen Guilty Crown or Black Rock Shooter (TV or OVA) because my poors eyes can’t take the pressure of watching on a PC screen. I’m like your old school obasan who likes watching everything on her beat-up VCR player hooked up to a 5-inch screen. (Ok, ok, so it’s actually a Philips DVP3560 All Region 1080p HDMI Upconverting DVD Player attached to a 19”-inch.) (But you get the picture.) That aside, I don’t think they could do any wrong with Sakamichi no Apollon, except for maybe the animation and music. I can forgive sucky animation and recycled stills, but if the music (I believe it’s supposed to be jazz) sucks, even the great storyline won’t be able to restrain me from disappointment. But from what I see if the short trailer (which covers Chapter 1 & 2 of the manga), it will be one of the best animes of the year. π
You guys are awesome! π Thanks for chp. 2 of Sakamichi no Apollon. This far, this read is light and whimsical!
Thank you so much for Sakimichi no Apollon, I think it’s going to be a great manga and I really appreciate you working on it π
AWWW I love you! You really are on of my fav scanlating group ! Your project are awesome!! I can’t wait to read Tokyo Alice and Futago, come come next week…;D
PS: While I was reading your post I was drinking a cafΓ© au lait so , see it writted made me laugh lol I know , I laugh for nothing…
Amato Amaro? That’s new. Thank you for those beautiful projects
First off, many thanks for the lovelies!! Never read Amato Amaro before, but after reading the comments in MU and the fact that I love all Heel’s projects, I shall give this one a try.
Secondly, I tried to register… however the same case as icassop above, I too did not see the verification code. Thus the registration failed. Hopefully the problem could be solved soonest.
Thirdly, yaaay~!!! I’m one of Heel’s favorite reader!!? T-Thank you… for realizing my existence… *sniffs* I made that comment about Apollon when they just announced the project. Now that we know who are the key people behind the project and we have seen the first trailer, I agree with you that it’s going to be one of the best series of the year. Along with another series coming up in noitaminA block – Tsuritama, I bet that Spring 2012 will be my busiest season!! <3
Glad to see you back! I guess I’ll be joining the forum in three shakes of a lamb’s tail….
The cafe au lait thing makes me smile too. Funny enough, I just finished reading a manga where one of the chapters took place in Spain and a side character was addressed as “Hose” and I immediately thought, “I’m pretty sure they meant ‘Jose’…” More often than not, my eyes tend to stray to tiny little details that others don’t usually notice (a la that intro scene in Amelie), like that one time I was watching SNSD perform some song on some music show and right behind one of the girls was this huge bug crawling on the curtain. It wasn’t until I pointed it out to a friend that he noticed it too. So… I guess I’m weird like that.
Anyway, off to join the forum!
Thank you for the Sakamachi no Apollon chapter! Looking forward to seeing where this goes, especially in light of the anime announcement (Watanabe directing and Kanno doing the music? Yay! ^^)
I love Ane no Kekkon! Well, I guess that’s a bit obvious.. more Nishi Keiko is always a good thing. Nigeru Otoko has such a nice atmosphere to it as well.
As much as I’d love to register at your forum, browse the threads and read your releases, I cannot register because the user verification doesn’t show up for me… I tried refreshing, disabling adblock, deleting cookies… Nope. Won’t show up. Won’t let me. I guess your forum already hates me and I haven’t even done anything yet… =(
I already had a sh*tty day, now this…
Thanks for your hard work nonetheless. It’s a shame I can’t read any of them though…
*sighs* (._.)
Btw, I didn’t see any link to the forum on this site… (had to get it from MU)
Ha! I’m touched! You guys are my favorite scan group ♥ – you pick awesome titles and do a great job with them.
I’m so bad at comments on blogs that I often forget to come back after I leave one to look at the conversation, but now you’ve guilted me into making more of an effort. π
Working in a museum is magical, I gotta say. I was totally in love with From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler as a kid myself, so I know the feeling! The one where I work is kind of small and strictly contemporary art (no really old beds or suits of armor, alas!), so it’s not quite the same as the Met, but it’s still so so so cool. I feel pretty dang lucky! (Which is good because museums don’t pay well unless you’re at a really famous one AND you have a fancy title – and sometimes not even then.)
